This low-glycemic recipe is incredibly quick and easy to make. You are done in less than 5 minutes! It is one of my all-time favorite desserts and satisfies my sweet tooth without the guilt or blood sugar spike before bed. Now that I am in my second trimester of pregnancy I am seeking out magnesium-rich foods like cacao and nuts to prevent leg cramps and promote good sleep. Cacao is also rich in antioxidants. Avocado is an excellent source of fiber and nourishing fat which supports a healthy skin and brain (and my growing baby). If chocolate is not your thing, experiment with small amounts of frozen berries for flavor.


1 medium-large ripe avocado
2 tbsp cacao powder
2 tbsp coconut milk
1 dash pink Himalayan salt
1 dash cinnamon
2 tbsp maple syrup (alternatively can use stevia, to taste)
